Mary J. Forbes was born April 10, 1842 and
died July 12, 1868.
She married Fleming B. W. Bryant, son of
Flemon Bryant, on February 11, 1864. Fleming served in the 38th
Virginia Infantry in the Civil War.
At Mary's death, she left two young sons,
Charles Robert Bryant (born April 16, 1865) and Samuel Fleming Bryant
(born April 22, 1866, died May 16, 1933 in Norfolk VA).
Fleming, her husband, died a short time
after Mary's death. The Bryant Family raised Charlie and the Forbes
Family (John Washington Forbes and his sister Elizabeth Mildred
"Bettie" Forbes) raised Sam. Charlie disappeared as a
young man, never to be heard from again. |
